I remember watching all these years ago. I personally liked the Kujibiki Unbalance OVAs over the newer full series. I did like that later on in Genshikan they showed the original hurricane cancelled Kujibiki Unbalance OVA ending clip. Was the closest thing to an ending we got for it.

"People bash anime if they include live action". That's kind of funny because Evangelion fans lose their minds over the live action footage in EoE, personally I just found it pretentious much like the movie itself. I would watch this show in a heartbeat but the incomplete translatation is what holds me off from it, I would watch the first 32 episodes but it seems like I'm getting a 65% of the story if I did that, and well, it wouldn't make me feel right saying I finished watching it on MAL even though I'm techically lying. It's kind of like saying you watched all the episodes of a lot of pre 10s fighting shonen anime when that isn't true and I mainly watched the canon stuff but MAL will think you watched ALL the episodes. MAL can be a little unhealthy at times. And YEAH, I feel you dude, if I'm not watching anime, shows, movies, playing games, listening to music or even reading comics, I just get annoyed really easily. Anything that is not me doing any of those things tends to get on my nerves, it's not a good trait to have but playing video games especially is the only thing that makes me happy. There's conventions too but those happen rarely. Outside of all that if I'm not doing any of that stuff, I'll just get agitated.

Everytime I watch a showa anime it's impossible to not notice something animated by Keiichiro Kimura. This man elevated singlehandely the quality of multiple series. Great work as usual.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother. I really relate with what you said about depending on storytelling to get any sort of positive feelings. My father passed away this January and I've been looking after him for like a year before that, so watching anime and old asian movies has been my only real escape. I'm glad that you were passionate enough about sabu to Ichi to post a video on it and as I said in the past I really enjoy these unscripted videos. I look forward to your next post. I'm also looking into purchasing one of your designs in your etsy shop and I hope to do that as soon as I can afford to.

I recently watched the first few episodes of Sabu and Ichi and though it was solid, but I stopped because the incompleteness bummed me out. Though it does look like the manga is fully translated so I might check that out instead.

"Injured athlete finding success in a totally different sport" is a rare plot point that I love. Then the series turns into Venus Wars (monocycle racers drafted into war as a mobile weapons platforms), which I also liked.

I got into the franchise through Wing, but after watching this, I prefer this series gritty combat vs the superhero-like Wing combat.

I watched Dairugger XV and it's legit good, it has a interesting story, and compared it to Vehicle Voltron, the differences are massive. In Dairugger, the Galvestons are war hungry, yes, but only because they want to find a new world to live in and use extreme force to get what they want, for the most part they are prideful and morally grey. In Vehicle Voltron, they're straight up sociopaths who want to conquer the universe and are slave drivers, Hazar was like that too before he realized he didn't like fighting all that much, plus he realized that his planet was dying.

There is no "Ningyou Tsukai", no "Mononokehime", no "Flame of Recca: Final Burning", no Ushio and Tora (first season of MAPPA(the second season of that show is a great anime too and it should be here in theory but it wasn´t finished in the moment this video was out,so...)) and there is no "Kill la Kill" (the best anime ever) so yeah, is a cool top but also very imperfect in the end...

Man seriously doubting how much I wanna watch that 1988 VHS recording. I LOVE vhs recordings my two favourite movies that are enhanced by being recorded like that are Return of the living Dead and Picnic at hanging rock. Some stuff just looks better crunchy
